Most of us, as human beings, are continuously thinking about our past or the future, but we never tend to pay attention to the current moment.
If you are thinking about a pleasant experience from the past, that is well & good but if you feel regret, guilt, or shame over previous actions or events, and if they continue to interfere with daily functioning, then that might be problematic.
Similarly, when you think about the future, feeling concerned, or overly worried, and If this is your norm, then excessive worries and issues can lead to stress and anxiety and have a significant impact on your mental health and well-being,
The following simple exercise may help you in a long run
- Stop doing whatever you are doing for a moment
- Close your eyes and take a deep breath 3 times.
- Open your eyes and observe your surroundings.. (no thinking) just observe for a min.
Do this every day at least once and start increasing the time. Then over a period of time, you will see the result in your physical and mental health.
Being present at the moment is a key aspect of mindfulness, which has been shown to have many benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improving focus, and enhancing well-being.

When we are present at the moment, we are more likely to appreciate the beauty and richness of life, as we are fully engaged with our surroundings and experiences.
Always be in the present moment.
