Although similar to spiritual centering, finding your Core Tone does not contract your awareness to a single point: rather, it is the ability to be aware of your own multi-dimensional perspective. To uncover your Core Tone, focus on the heart chakra. As the pituitary has been called the “master gland” for the physical endocrine system, the heart chakra affects the other chakras in much the same way.
If you are practiced in sensing the chakras’ subtle energies, you may simply focus on the heart chakra as though searching for a known voice in the hubbub of a crowd. Simply ask yourself to “hear” the silent tone of your Self, the singular tone that is only your own. When you hear its silent note, you feel a gentle, welcoming elation and a sense of peace.
This Core Tone is silent: it is so complex and refined a sound that the physical body cannot perceive it directly. “Hearing” this silent sound is much like feeling emotionally touched by someone’s kindness, remembering a quiet, secret joy you once had, some special news or a gift from a special friend.
If you have not had much practice with subtle energies, the second method is to sit somewhere peaceful. Fold your hands over your heart and breathe gently for five to ten breaths. These intentional breaths are sufficient to engage the silent, super-refined Core Tone. You will gradually have a sense of: ”It’s all right now,” or, “I remember more of who I am now.” You will very likely feel, “Things are going right for me at last,” or, “I have something I can work with.”
You may find yourself suddenly breathing deeply or yawning: this inward breath aligns your subtle bodies beautifully. Just touching your Core Tone in the course of the day or in your spiritual practices can in itself have very good effects, helping to regulate and harmonize your 4-D and M-D relationships.
This is definitely one meditation you can do any time you have a moment.
