I was having my coffee al fresco this morning, in my car. My coffee buddy was sitting in his car, his windows rolled down, so we could have our chat. he said something mid-conversation that peaked my interest. When I mentioned how people were waiting for the second coming. He responded, “If the Messiah came, religion would be over.”
That was one of those aha moments for me. It made sense then, that people would perpetuate that scenario as long as possible. Because it keeps the game going.
The waiting game.
As long as there is the journey, and the searching, the game is on. And there’s something delicious about playing that game. And, there’s nothing wrong with any of that. It really did help us to understand ourselves. To get to know ourSelves. We needed to play hide and seek with our own Divinity for awhile to discover we are already divine.
The waiting game takes many forms. We could be waiting to feel better, look better, have more money, less fear, for the perfect conditions, for others to awaken on the planet so we can feel more comfortable.
For something or someone else to save us.
But once we realize we are it, that we are who we have been waiting for, we are the one who chooses and we are the one who has the ability to create with energies from within ourselves, the game is over.
THEN WHAT?
Could the game of ‘not quite being there yet’ be so seductive that we want to keep it going as long as possible? Not quite allowing in the joy, not quite allowing ourselves to enjoy life on such an intimate and sensual level……it has its perks.
Staying in the mental realms is safe. At least to the mind. We could pretend we still need some fine-tuning, more releasing, more fixing before we are ready to receive our birthright. Our own Mastery.
But we notice that it never ends. There is always something else that needs to be released. Which, there may be. And whatever it is may be getting in the way of our realization. But could there be a part of us that knows it’s easy to release, but just doesn’t want to, at least not just yet.
Could there be a part of us that just doesn’t want the game to be over. The journeying. The seeking. The male energy of exploring and navigating is kind of fun. And what happens if we let that go totally? It’s kind of scary.
ERGO, I GO
The ego has been given a bad rap. It’s not only been glorified, but it’s been blamed for all the problems in the world and within ourselves. But as we awaken we realize that we have been giving our ego, our human personality the daunting responsibility of being the Master. Of being the sole creator.
One reason for so much mental illness is because the mind has been allowed to become the sole creator, without the benefit of the heart and soul. Consequently, the mind goes kind of crazy. It doesn’t have the capacity to carry that impossible a mission on its shoulders.
The mind tries to solve problems with its limited perspective. It does a magnificent job if it’s a technical, or a mechanical problem. It’s become expert at navigating this time and space environment. After all, it set out to do so when we left our non-physical home and came to earth for the first time.
But over time the ego lost touch with the heart and soul, and then things go a bit wonky. Really out of balance.
The aspects of receiving, allowing, intuition, and sensuality became relegated to the basement.
All that has changed in the past few decades. And many of us know it. We know that we are approaching our sovereignty, our freedom. We are closer than ever to it. We can taste it. And, it’s exciting. It’s also frightening to our mind.
If the game of searching and waiting is over, what happens to it, to the mind, to the human personality?
Intellectually we understand that the mind integrates with our soul. That it’s a win-win. That the mind and the body get to be taken care of.
But still, on a practical level, the human personality is not wanting to totally let go of the game. Yet, ironically, the game is already over. The mind just doesn’t want to admit it to itself.
The mind’s identity has been all about doing, trying, achieving, struggling, searching, manipulating energies. It takes great pride in it. So it will feel somewhat lost when it realizes it’s no longer needed in quite the same capacity anymore.
But any good Boss knows that there is wisdom in delegating. Allowing others who are expert in their own field to take control of things that they know more about than he does.
But it’s a willingness to let go of the game itself that is required of us. Or, the realization that, for us moving into our freedom, it’s already game over.
