A good lawyer is one who defends their client, regardless of their innocence or guilt. \u00a0Here in the United States, it is their client\u2019s right to have a fair and speedy trial before 12 of their peers. \u00a0The human mind is such a lawyer.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The lawyer will pull out every imaginable argument to make his case. \u00a0Even if in that lawyer\u2019s heart, he knows his client is dead wrong. The lawyer will argue that there was no other recourse the client could take. \u00a0There were no available options. \u00a0Nothing more could be done.<\/p>\n

Years ago a friend of mine was in an abusive relationship. \u00a0She expressed her frustration over many years, and many conversations. \u00a0She was waiting for an inheritance so she could extricate herself and claim her freedom.<\/p>\n

When it finally came to her, she ended up staying with the man, and giving him almost all of her inheritance. \u00a0Despite the abuse, she felt a degree of safety from the world, and he convinced her that he could protect her.<\/p>\n

Clearly she wasn\u2019t ready to claim her freedom. \u00a0Haven\u2019t we all done that to one degree or another? \u00a0Given away our power, our energies to something or someone that didn\u2019t have our best interests at heart? \u00a0And the basis of our decision was usually fear. \u00a0Wanting to be protected.<\/p>\n

And we continued to play the victim card.<\/p>\n

So back to our lawyer story. \u00a0Any lawyer worth their degree will try to portray their client as the victim. \u00a0They had no choice, says the lawyer. \u00a0My client was the victim of (fill in the blank).<\/p>\n

The lawyer\u2019s closing arguments cinch the deal. \u00a0The jury is sympathetic toward the defendant. \u00a0He wins the case.<\/p>\n

A HOLLOW VICTORY<\/strong><\/p>\n

But it\u2019s a hollow victory. \u00a0The client may have won the case, but he ends up forfeiting his freedom. \u00a0He knows in his heart that if he needed a lawyer to fight for his truth, that truth was already suspect. \u00a0Truth does not really need to be defended, does it?<\/p>\n

He ended up with some money in his pocket but he walked away with nothing else. \u00a0No joy. \u00a0No passion. \u00a0Just a little bit more security.<\/p>\n

The human mind is constantly and stubbornly defending itself. \u00a0It is adept at arguing for its own limitations. \u00a0It will present evidence, in the form of cold, hard \u2018reality,\u2019 that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, it is right.<\/p>\n

Can\u2019t argue with reality, can you?<\/p>\n

\u201cThe doctor says it\u2019s incurable. \u00a0The only option is surgery. \u00a0Or just live with it. \u00a0There is no choice but to work at a job that is joyless. \u00a0Everyone does it. \u00a0What can we trust but the old ways? \u00a0Life is supposed to be hard. \u00a0Nothing comes easy. \u00a0We are supposed to suffer. \u00a0We\u2019re not supposed to feel too much joy. We will stand out too much. \u00a0We have no choice but to respond to life. \u00a0We have no say in how we feel about anything. \u00a0It is what it is.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The jury by the way, the 12 peers, is mass consciousness. \u00a0The mind is deeply invested in that consciousness. \u00a0Understandably of course. \u00a0It\u2019s all it knows to be true.<\/p>\n

OUR SOUL DOES NOT PLAY THE GAME<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Soul has no interest in arguing with the mind. \u00a0It will not play that game. \u00a0It does not have to make a case to prove that it is capable and trustworthy. \u00a0It can\u2019t provide hard evidence that it is safe for the mind to trust it. \u00a0Yet the evidence is all around us.<\/p>\n

But the mind wants that hard evidence in its own life before it will trust in the soul. Until then it will not let go of its control. \u00a0Actually, the fact that it claims it does not \u2018see\u2019 that evidence buys the mind more time in the captain\u2019s chair.<\/p>\n

Have you ever tried to convince someone that the solution to a problem they are having is actually available to them right now? \u00a0You can see it, feel it and taste it for them. \u00a0You have done it yourself, and you know it works. \u00a0And it doesn\u2019t require any pain or sacrifice. \u00a0But they keep arguing that it\u2019s not possible.<\/p>\n

After many such conversations, you recognize that they are not open to change their situation, at least not yet. \u00a0You understand because you also have been there, or are there in other ways in your own life.<\/p>\n

So you realize that arguing with them, trying to make them see your perspective is just a waste of everyone\u2019s energies. \u00a0You begin to see that there is a kind a game being played, and a feeding of energies.<\/p>\n

That scenario is the same as the human heart asking the mind to let go of its grip. \u00a0The heart wants to follow the joy, and wants to trust the soul . \u00a0It feels the soul. \u00a0It knows it is as real as the so-called hard-bed reality. \u00a0Actually, it knows it is more real than that so-called logical, day to day reality.<\/p>\n

The heart doesn\u2019t need evidence. \u00a0It just knows.<\/p>\n

But unlike the soul, it has been trying to convince the mind that it\u2019s safe to trust the soul. \u00a0The heart and the mind have been doing battle for such a long time. \u00a0But the heart is also weary. \u00a0It\u2019s tired of trying to defend itself and the soul. \u00a0It sees that it\u2019s a losing battle.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s because the Mind seems made up. \u00a0That\u2019s an expression with a double meaning, isn\u2019t it. \u00a0\u201cMy Mind is made up!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Yes, it is, in more ways than one.<\/p>\n

The Mind is the made up version of us. \u00a0Its original purpose was to support the heart and soul, but for understandable reasons it became the identity. \u00a0It began speaking for our heart and our soul. \u00a0It determined what we should and should not do. \u00a0How we should feel. \u00a0And it had the consensus of the rest of humanity to back it up.<\/p>\n

Everyone is doing it.<\/p>\n

But, as our mom or dad used to say,\u00a0\u201cIf all your friends jumped off a bridge, would you, too?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Mind is Hell-bent on maintaining the status quo. \u00a0Don\u2019t appear too crazy. \u00a0Don\u2019t stray from the formula. \u00a0Even if it means sacrificing any sense of joy.<\/p>\n

If you look at the world, you will notice that not everyone is ready for freedom. \u00a0Freedom takes an awesome amount of personal responsibility. \u00a0But not the old, 3D type of responsibility. \u00a0The responsibility rests on the heart and the soul.<\/p>\n

Not the mind.<\/p>\n

Many of us are recognizing that we have allowed the mind to run amok with our heart and our soul. \u00a0The mind is all about doing and achieving to prove value. \u00a0And we realize that it is time to stop indulging the mind as it defends itself. \u00a0(Isn\u2019t there a saying, that a person who\u00a0represents himself<\/b>\u00a0in court\u00a0has a fool<\/b>\u00a0for a\u00a0client<\/b>.) It\u2019s time to stop trying to argue with it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s really simple. \u00a0It\u2019s to acknowledge the emotions for what they are. \u00a0Lines of defense for a hollow victory. \u00a0And then in that way our heart does a service to the mind. \u00a0Because the mind is weary, too. \u00a0It cannot figure life out. \u00a0It can\u2019t figure ascension out. \u00a0 It\u2019s not designed to. It wants relief.<\/p>\n

So our heart and soul work together to give the mind that relief. \u00a0Not by indulging the mind, not by allowing it to feed off of us with all its emotions, but by being aware of who keeps calling the shots in our life. Is it a clever lawyer that prides himself on winning every case, even if it\u2019s always a hollow victory? \u00a0Or is it our soul, who is already free?<\/p>\n
